Get started

Create an API key

Create keys in the SimpleCold dashboard.

Steps

  1. Log in. Go to simplecold.com/dashboard. No account yet? Sign up and verify your email.

  2. Open API keys. Go to simplecold.com/dashboard/api-keys.

  3. Click "Create API Key".

  4. Name the key. Use a name that says where it is used, such as signup-form-prod.

  5. Choose the mode. Live keys (sc_live_…) run real checks and use credits. Test keys (sc_test_…) return sandbox results and never use credits. The mode can't be changed later; regenerating a key keeps it.

  6. Choose an expiry duration: 1 day, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year or never. Prefer an expiry; the dashboard warns you about keys that never expire.

  7. Copy the key. The "Save your key" dialog shows the full key once. Copy it and store it somewhere safe, such as an environment variable or a secrets manager.
