What's new in SimpleCold
New features, improvements and fixes, newest first.
- Improved
New reason codes and readable export columns
The status field in every result now holds a SimpleCold reason code, and each code always maps to the same category, reason and fail type. This is a breaking change if your code matches on the old status values, so update those checks; code that only reads category keeps working. CSV downloads now add readable columns after yours: Result, Reason, Reason code, Suggestion, Retry later, Domain, Mail server country, Website country and Website language. Your original columns keep their exact headers, in the same order.
- deliverable: mailbox_found.
- risky: accept_all, role_address, disposable, mailbox_unconfirmed, blocked_by_server and no_response.
- undeliverable: mailbox_not_found, mailbox_disabled, rejected, server_error, no_mail_server, invalid_format and possible_typo (possible_typo comes with a suggested fix).
- If your code matched on the old status values, the Result guide in the dashboard explains every new code; support can map old values for you.
- processing stays processing while a check is still running.
- failType now follows the reason code: temporary for blocked_by_server, no_response and server_error, permanent for the other undeliverable codes, and none for the rest.
- JSON downloads keep your original keys and add result, reasonCode, reason, suggestion, retryLater, domain, mailServerCountry, websiteCountry and websiteLanguage.
- Fixed
Sign in with Google works again
The Google sign-in redirect pointed at the wrong address, so the login could fail after you picked your account. The callback now goes to the right place.
- New
A new verification engine
Every check now runs through a step-by-step pipeline: format, disposable and role-based lists, domain and mail servers, a catch-all test, then the mailbox itself. Each result still comes back with a category and a plain reason.
- Checks run in a fixed order and stop as soon as one gives a definite answer.
- Disposable and role-based addresses are flagged before any mail server is contacted.
- Each result includes a fail type (permanent, temporary or none) next to the reason.
- New
Catch-all detection per domain
We now test domains with an address that cannot exist and remember the answer for that domain. If the server accepts it, the domain accepts mail for any address, and its contacts come back Risky with the reason "Server accepts emails to any address."
- New
Typo suggestions
When a domain looks like a misspelling of a common one, the result includes a suggestion with the corrected address. It appears in the API response and as a suggestion column in CSV downloads.
- Improved
Answers from slow mail servers
Single checks now answer within about 12 seconds, and batches within about 25. If a mail server is still thinking, the address comes back as processing. The final result is usually ready within a minute or two, and asking for it again within 30 minutes does not use another credit.
- Improved
Dead domains are double-checked
Domains that seem to have no mail server are confirmed with a second lookup before we mark them Undeliverable, so a brief DNS hiccup no longer turns a real address into a bad one.
- Improved
Faster repeat checks
Recent results are reused for a limited time, so checking the same address again returns quickly. The same address submitted twice at the same moment is checked once.
- Improved
Steadier speed under heavy load
The engine now adjusts how many checks run in parallel and keeps capacity aside for real-time requests, so a large upload does not slow down sign-up form checks.
- New
Live progress for bulk jobs
Bulk uploads now show how many addresses have been checked, a percentage and an estimated time left. The same numbers are available from the bulk status endpoint in the API.
- Progress, processed count and time remaining on the verify page.
- Status badges and an updated breakdown of Risky results on each job.
- API status responses include totalProcessed, progressPercent and etaSeconds.
- Fixed
Per-email prices show the real amount
The purchase page rounded small per-email rates, so a rate like $0.002 showed as $0.00. Rates now show four decimal places.
- Improved
Standard pricing for every account
Accounts without custom pricing now see the standard volume prices automatically, instead of an empty price list.
- New
Accounts moved from the previous app
Users of the earlier SimpleCold email validation app were moved to the new platform with their credits, past results and bulk jobs. Result files for past jobs were rebuilt so they can still be downloaded.
