Guide
Verify your Apollo contacts
Export saved contacts from Apollo, verify them in SimpleCold, and import the clean list back. There is no direct connection yet; this takes a few steps.
Step by step
4 steps from export to import
Follow these in order.
- 01
Export from Apollo
Select the saved contacts you want and export them to a CSV. Apollo's help centre shows the current menus.
Apollo: export contacts - 02
Upload to SimpleCold
Upload the CSV under New verification. We find the email column by its header (email, e-mail, email address, emails or mail) and remove duplicate addresses, which are not charged.
- 03
Download and filter the results
Choose Valid only for Deliverable rows, or Full list and filter the Result column to keep Deliverable (and the risky rows you want).
- 04
Import the clean CSV
Import the file into Apollo as contacts and map the email column. If Apollo offers to update existing records, choose it so you don't create duplicates.
Apollo: import contacts
Which rows to keep
What to do with each result
Every row has a reason, so you can decide row by row.
Import
Result is Deliverable: the mail server confirmed the mailbox. Safe to send.
Review
Result is Risky: catch-all domain, role address, throwaway inbox, or a server that would not confirm. Reason says which. Drop throwaway inboxes; keep the rest only if you trust the source.
Leave out
Result is Undeliverable: the address will bounce. If Suggestion has a fix (a typo), correct it and verify again.
Columns
What the file contains when it comes back
Every original column is kept, with its header exactly as it was. These are added at the end. Map the ones you want in Apollo and skip the rest.
| Column | What it holds | In Apollo |
|---|---|---|
| Result | Deliverable, Risky or Undeliverable | Filter on it before import; keep as a custom field if you like |
| Reason | The plain reason, e.g. The domain accepts mail for any address, so this mailbox can't be confirmed. | Optional custom field |
| Reason code | The reason code: mailbox_found, accept_all, role_address, disposable, mailbox_not_found… | Usually skip |
| Suggestion | A typo fix such as [email protected], else empty | Optional custom field |
| Retry later | Yes when a later check may give a different answer, else No | Usually skip |
| Domain, Mail server country, Website country, Website language | The domain, server and site country, site language | Usually skip |
Extra columns only land in Apollo if a matching field exists, so create custom fields first for anything you want to keep, such as Result.
